PVL: Panaga gets new wings, joins Angels
Three-time best blocker Jeanette Panaga signed a deal with PetroGazz.

PetroGazz landed a blue chip recruit to add muscle at the net after tapping the services of middle blocker Jeanette Panaga for its 2019 campaign.

The three-time Premier Volleyball League Best Blocker recently received her release from her former club Pocari Sweat and decided to join the Angels.

“Sobrang hirap po na decision kasi po halos lahat naman ng teams sobrang laki po yung dedication nila to help the volleyball industry grow, kaya po yung investment nila for the development of the sport, talaga naman pong makakatulong sa aming mga players," said Panaga in a statement released by Virtual Playground through its volleyball talents head Mark Salamat.

The former College of St. Benilde star joined Pocari Sweat last year to beef up the squad led by Myla Pablo, who transferred to Motolite after being released by the Lady Warriors.

"Ipinagdasal ko po talaga kay God na siya na po ang bahala kung saan nya ako gustong dalhin. And yun nga po - HE leads me to join PetroGazz," said Panaga, who helped the Lady Warriors capture last year's Reinforced Conference crown and a runner-up finish in the inaugural Open Conference.

The middle blocker not only considered the Angels' solid volleyball program under head coach Jerry Yee, but also the chance of reuniting with her former CSB teammates in Djanel Cheng, Ranya Musa and Rachel Austero - the same core that delivered the Taft-based squad to its breakthrough NCAA title three years ago. Panaga will also get a chance to play alongside another former Pocari Sweat teammate Cai Baloaloa.

"Malaking factor din po kasi na buo na ang team, nandoon na po yung spirit nila so hindi po ako mahihirapan mag adjust plus majority po ng players ay mga teammates ko sa Benilde at mga dating taga Pocari kaya po may relationship na din talaga, parang reunion na din namin," she added.

Panaga extended her gratitude to the Federated Distributors, Inc. club team for taking care of her for the past two years.

Panaga will join the Angels’ training as soon as they start their build up for PVL Season 3 by January 2019.
