PVL: Lady Troopers eye second straight victory
PacificTown Army seeks its second straight win against reigning champion Creamline.

PacificTown Army braces for a tough battle as it seeks back-to-back wins in a clash with defending champion Creamline on Wednesday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Lady Troopers hope to ride the momentum of their debut win to start a winning run when they step back on court at 3:00 p.m. for the match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

American import Jenelle Jordan and Ukrainian Lena Lymareva-Flink scored 15 points each in PacificTown Army’s 25-20, 25-16, 24-26, 25-23 win over returning BaliPure on Sunday.

Jordan, who is playing in the PVL for the first time, likes the atmosphere of Creamline’s pink-clad crowd and is excited to take on the Cool Smashers.

“They probably don’t like me but I still love the color pink and I’m not cheering for them, obviously, but I’m really excited to play them just to experience the crowd and their energy and see what the competition is like here in the Philippines,” said Jordan.

Creamline is coming off a shocking 22-25, 24-26, 22-25, loss to PetroGazz in its first game, which saw ace hitter Alyssa Valdez sprain her left ankle midway in the second set while retrieving the ball coming off a deflection.

Valdez is expected to suit up for the Cool Smashers, who reportedly sacked Chinese coach Huannin Li on Monday after just one game.

Venezuelan import Ale Blanco and Thai reinforcement Kuttika Kaewpin are expected to bounce back from their sorry opening game that saw them combine for only 17 points.
