New team Motolite makes its debut on Saturday against PacificTown Army in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Veteran Myla Pablo will banner the squad composed of a good mix of young and aggressive collegiate standouts when Motolite steps inside the court at 4:00 p.m. to face a team raring to get back on the winning track.
The match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
Motolite will parade Bosnian import Edina Selimovic, who played a short stint with former conference champion Pocari Sweat two years ago, and Trinidad and Tobago national team member Channon Thompson, who replaced Cuban Gygy Silva after sustaining a shoulder injury.
Power-hitters Isa Molde and Tots Carlos, setter Ayel Estranero and middle blockers Marist Layug and Aie Gannaban from University of the Philippines are expected to bring more firepower ang energy to the team. Also joining the squad are head coach Air Padda’s former Adamson wards Eli Soyud, Thang Ponce, Bernadette Flora, Jellie Tempiatura and Fhen Emnas, who transferred from BanKo.
The Lady Troopers, on the other hand, seek to bounce back from a 21-25, 16-25, 18-25, loss at the hands of defending champion Creamline last Wednesday.
PacificTown Army is tied with the Cool Smashers at 1-1 win-loss slates.
American imports Jenelle Jordan, Ukranian Lena Lymarova-Flynk and locals Jovelyn Gonzaga, Nene Bautista and Royse Tubino need to get their acts together to spoil Motolite’s debut.
