PVL: Cool Smashers, Perlas Spikers battle for second win
Defending champion Creamline shoots for its second straight win in a showdown with BanKo.

Defending champion Creamline and BanKo clash on Sunday with their eyes fixed on snatching their second straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Opening serve is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Both teams carry 1-1 win-loss slates.

The Perlas Spikers hope to ride the momentum of their 25-23, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, win over BaliPure on Saturday to complete a sweep of their back-to-back weekend schedule.

“I think, if anything, we need to just simplify things, play our game, whatever tempo, whatever their doing, they're going to get their points, we're going to get ours,” said BanKo import Kia Bright, who exploded for 16 points against the Water Defenders. “We'll just remember that it's just one more game and just take it one point at a time. And just breathe and not to get tensed.”

The Perlas Spikers will also pin their hopes on Turkis reinforcement Yasemin Yildirim and locals Nicole Tiamzon, Kathy Bersola, Dzi Gervacio and setter Jem Ferrer.

But BanKo is sure to get into a tough battle against the Cool Smashers, who bounced back from a straight sets loss to PetroGazz in the conference opener with a dominating 25-21, 25-16, 25-18, win over PacificTown Army on Wednesday.

Alyssa Valdez will lead the charge for Creamline with Michele Gumabao, Risa Sato and reinforcements Kuttika Kaewpin of Thailand and Venezuelan Ale Blanco.
