PVL: Cool Smashers gun for win no. 3 vs. Motolite
Creamline will bring back the mentor that steered the Cool Smashers to two titles last year.

Defending champion Creamline is back in it’s old ‘happy-happy, heartstrong mantra’ days as Thai coach Tai Bundit makes his return as the Cool Smashers’ tactician on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Bundit, who steered Creamline to the import-laden and Open Conference titles last year, arrived Monday.

Assistant coach Ed Ortega took over the spot left by sacked Chinese coach Huanning Li after Creamline lost its debut game in straight sets to league-leading PetroGazz. Under Ortega’s watch the Cool Smashers won two straight games.

The Cool Smashers look to make it three in a row when they face winless Motolite at 4:00 p.m. in a match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Creamline is tied with PacificTown Army at second and third with 2-1 win-loss record.

The Cool Smashers will pin their hopes on their star-studded roster led by Thai Kuttika Kaewpin, Venezuelan Ale Blanco, Alyssa Valdez, Michel Gumabao, Risa Sato, setter Jia Morado and libero Mel Gohing.

Motolite, on the other hand, hunts for the elusive first win after dropping their first three games.

Trinidad and Tobago’s Channon Thompson and Krystel Esdelle, Isa Molde, Tots Carlos, Eli Soyud and Marist Layug need to get their acts together to claw their way out of the cellar.
