Undefeated PetroGazz shoot for at least a playoff for a Final Four spot.
Unbeaten PetroGazz looks to extend its winning streak to six and secure at least a playoff for a Final Four spot in a rematch against BanKo in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Angels made a clean sweep of first round, a five game winning streak that PetroGazz snatched without dropping a single set.
Top two league-leading scorers Cuban Wilma Salas and American Janisa Wilson will again be at the helm of the Angels when they try to complete its elimination round domination over the Perlas Spikers at 4:00 p.m. The match will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
PetroGazz closed the first round with a thrilling 25-12, 29-27, 25-15, victory over a determined PacificTown Army side last Saturday.
The Angels made quick work of Banko, 25-19, 25-21, 25-12, in their first meeting. But PetroGazz is sure to face a tougher Perlas Spikers side this time compared to the then debuting team the Angels encountered.
“Everyone's gonna be coming for us,” said Johnson. “We have to really step our game now. What we are good at, we have to be better at it.”
“The mistakes we made, of course we gonna improve that. Whatever aspect of the game, we have to improve it by as much as we can,” added Johnson.
BanKo finished the first round with a 2-3 win-loss record.
The Perlas Spikers suffered a 22-25, 25-23, 29-27, 20-25, 7-15, loss at the hands of the Lady Troopers.
