PVL: Angels aim for win no. 7
PetroGazz sets its sights on extending its winning streak to seven.

Undefeated and Final Four-bound PetroGazz hunts for its seventh straight win on Sunday in a rematch with listless BaliPure in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the Imus City Sports Complex in Cavite.

The Angels got a free semifinals seat after defending champion Creamline defeated BanKo in Iloilo on Saturday.

Now on its second straight Final Four appearance, the 6-0 PetroGazz is going all-out in the 2:00 p.m. match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Cuban import Wilma Salas registered a career-best 37 points in the Angels’ 25-23, 25-11, 22-25, 25-20, win over BanKo last Wednesday.

Salas will be backed by American import Janisa Johnson and solid local crew of Jeanette Panaga, Cherry Nunag, Cai Baloaloa, setter Djanel Cheng and libero Ciene Cruz in PetroGazz’s attempt to complete an elims sweep over the Water Defenders.

The Angels crushed BaliPure, 25-19, 25-12, 25-15, in their first meeting.

Meanwhile, the Water Defenders hope for a better outing this time after dropping all of their five games in the first round.

BaliPure was swept by  the Cool Smashers on Wednesday.

Montenegrin Danijela Dzakovic and Alexandra Vajdova of Slovenia will need all the help they can get from locals Grazielle Bombita, Menchie Tubiera, Satrianni Espiritu and Sandra Delos Santos to end their skid.
