PVL: Cool Smashers clinch second semis berth
Repeat-seeking Creamline is through to the Final Four after winning their sixth straight game.

Defending champion Creamline made quick work of Motolite, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23, to punch a Final Four ticket in the Premier Volleyball Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Wednesday.

The Cool Smashers banked on Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin, Venezuelan Ale Blanco and locals Alyssa Valdez, setter Jia Morado and Risa Sato to stretch their winning streak to six for a 6-1 win-loss record and spoiled the long-awaited debut of Motolite star Myla Pablo.

Blanco scored all of her 13 points off attacks while Kaewpin also finished with 13 markers built on 11 attacks and two kill blocks for the Cool Smashers.

“We're just really happy that we are really jelling and our chemistry as a team is back,” said Valdez. “And I guess the key talaga in winning the back-to-back games, back in Iloilo and today, were our imports.”

“I think na nakuha na talaga yung system ni coach Tai [Bundit] and really jelled with the team, actually with Jia [Morado] pala,” she added.

Valdez fired 10 points with 12 digs while playmaker Morado posted 26 excellent sets that helped Creamline in nailing 43 attacks. Sato had five points while Jema Galanza posted six off the bench.

Creamline joined league-leading PetroGazz (7-0) in the semifinals.

Motolite slid to 2-5 slate tied with BanKo.

Trinidad and Tobago imports Krystle Esdelle and Channonn Thompson got 15 and 14 points, respectively, for Motolite, which gave away 21 points off errors compared to Creamline's 12.

Skipper Pablo, who came from a lower back injury, saw action for the  first time and finished with three points in two sets of play.
