PVL: Cool Smashers go for second Final Four berth
Reigning champion Creamline looks to join unbeaten PetroGazz in the Final Four.

Defending champion Creamline aims to clinch the second Final Four seat on Wednesday in a showdown with Motolite in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Cool Smashers secured at least a playoff for a semifinals berth after making quick work of BanKo, 12-25, 19-25, 16-25, last Saturday in their out-of-town game in Iloilo for a 5-1 win-loss record.

A repeat win by Creamline over their first round victim at 5:00 p.m. will hand the Cool Smashers a spot in the best-of-three semifinals to join unbeaten PetroGazz (7-0).

The match will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin, Ale Blanco of Venezuela and locals Alyssa Valdez, Risa Sato, Michele Gumabao and setter Jia Morado will be at the forefront of Creamline’s drive to advance into the next round.

Meanwhile, Motolite breathed new life to its campaign after winning their second straight match for a 2-4 slate at the start of the second round.

Motolite defeated 25-23, 21-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-13, last Sunday for a revenge win over its first round tormentor.

The squad will pin its hopes on imports Channon Thompson and Krystle Esdelle of Trinidad and Tobago and locals Tots Carlos, Eli Soyud and playmaker Ayel Estranero.

Top hitter Myla Pablo, who got the greenlight from her doctors to see action after recovering from a lower back injury, has yet to be fielded in by head coach Air Padda.
