PVL: Motolite seeks to keep semis hopes alive
Motolite guns to get back on the winning track and fan its semifinals hopes.

Motolite tries to keep its Final Four hopes alive when it takes on desperate BaliPure on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Tied with BanKo at fourth to fifth spot with 2-5 win-loss slate, Motolite needs to win all of its remaining three assignments to formally snatch one of the last two remaining semifinals seats.

Motolite will try to get back on the winning track at 2:00 p.m. in a match that will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Myla Pablo is expected to log in more minutes this time after seeing action for only two sets in her debut in Motolite’s straight sets loss to defending champion and semis-bound Creamline last Wednesday.

Pablo, who was sidelined for six games after sustaining a lower back injury, scored only three points in her return.

Motolite will also pin its hopes on Trinidad and Tobago imports Channon Thompson and Krystle Esdelle locals Tots Carlos, Isa Molde, Eli Soyud and Marist Layug to make a repeat of the squad’s 25-16, 25-21, 25-18, win over the Water Defenders in their first meeting.

Meanwhile, BaliPure desperately needs to win all of their remaining three games after dropping their first seven outings.

Another defeat will boot the Water Defenders out of the semifinals race.

Slovenian Alexandra Vajdova and Montenegrin Danijela Dzakovic has been the only consistent scorers for BaliPure, which will need to squeeze out more production from locals Grazielle Bombita Satrianni Espiritu and Sandra Delos Santos to avoid an early vacation.
