PVL: We needed this – Padda on tough win
I'm just happy that they pulled it together. Yeah, man, we needed this -- Motolite coach Air Padda

Motolite head coach Air Padda was just relieved that her girls were able to pull off a come-from-behind five-set win over winless BaliPure on Saturday.

Padda knew the importance of winning as many games as they can in their remaining assignments in their bid for one of the last two remaining Final Four seats in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference.

“I'm just happy that they pulled it together. Yeah, man, we needed this,” said Padda after her squad defeated the Water Defenders, 23-25, 23-25, 25-14, 25-14, 15-12, for Motolite’s third win in eight games to move up to solo fourth spot.

Motolite is just a half a game ahead of BanKo (2-5) heading into their rematch on Sunday set at 2:00 p.m. at the Alonte Sports Arena in Binan, Laguna.

“Playing back-to-back weekend is really tough on you physically, mentally, and spiritually,” said Padda. “So winning today is going to just give us that extra boost of confidence that we need.”

The victory, according to Padda, somehow eased some pressure on their shoulders as they take on the slumping and desperate Perlas Spikers, who defeated Motolite in the first round.

“They can sleep better tonight,” said Padda. “You know, it's again, we have to turn around and do this at the same time tomorrow. And we have to get up even earlier because we have to go to Laguna to play, in Binan.”

Padda also liked the character shown by Motolite, coming back from two sets down and prevailing over the Water Defenders in a frantic race to the finish in the deciding frame.

At least Motolite won’t be bringing any excess baggage when the squad travels south to face a team that is on a three-game losing skid.

“It's hard when you lose. Because even if you want to leave, if we want to leave this loss here and play tomorrow, sometimes we're taking it with us,” Padda said. “So at least if we're taking anything today with us is the win, it's the confidence, it's the perseverance, it's the resilience, It's the refusing to lose attitude. So that's how important it was.”
