Can Motolite salvage a playoff for the last semifinals ticket?
Motolite goes for one final push to keep its Final Four hopes alive in a do-or-die match against mighty PetroGazz on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
With its back against the wall, Motolite needs to win over the Angels in their 6:00 p.m. encounter in order to force a playoff for the last semis seat.
The game will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
Motolite parades a 3-6 win-loss record and is coming off a sorry five-set loss to BanKo last Sunday in Binan, Laguna.
Channon Thompson and Krystle Esdelle of Trinidad and Tobago as well as locals Myla Pablo, Isa Molde, Tots Carlos, Marist Layug and Eli Soyud must bring their A-game to salvage an all-important win to remain in semis contention.
If Motolite wins, it will take on the loser of the BanKo-PacificTown Army match in a playoff for the last semis seat on Sunday.
However, it is easier said than done as Motolite will have to collide with a team led by the power-hitting duo of Cuban Wilma Salas and American Janisa Johnson.
PetroGazz is on top of the leaderboard with 8-1 slate tied with defending champion Creamline.
The Angels beat the Lady Troopers last Sunday to get back on the winning track after seeing their seven-game winning streak snapped by the Cool Smashers the day before.
