Reigning champion Creamline advanced to its third straight Finals stint.
ANTIPOLO --- Defending champion Creamline marched to its third straight championship stint after rolling past PacificTown Army, 25-12, 25-18, 25-13, Saturday in Game 2 of the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference best-of-three semifinals at the Ynares Sports Center here.
The Cool Smashers made quick work of the sluggish Lady Troopers to complete a series sweep and book a Finals showdown with PetroGazz.
Thai Kuttika Kaewpin scored 12 points - all from attacks - and added 10 digs and eight excellent receptions while Alyssa Valdez posted 11 markers to higlight Creamline's balanced scoring. Risa Sato had nine points, Michele Gumabao scored eight while Venezuelan Ale Blanco registered seven for the Cool Smashers, whio had 39 attack points, five kill blocks and nailed seven aces.
The Cool Smashers extended their winning streak to 11 games.
“This year has been a different kind of challenges yung nabigay sa amin from the very start since January until now iba-iba ang pinagdaanan ng team at iba-iba rin yung nakalaban namin. It’s an interesting season,” said Valdez.
“It’s going to be exciting in the Finals kasi first time namin makakalaban ang Petrogazz with one of the best imports na dumating sa atin si Wilma Salas,” added Valdez.
Game 1 of the best-of-three championship series is on Wednesday.
Creamline dominated the match right from the opening serve as the Cool Smashers opened an 8-0 scoreline to start the first set. From there it was all Creamline.
Ukrainian Lena Lymareva-Flink was the only Lady Trooper in double figures with 11 points while Jovelyn Gonzaga and American Jenelle Jordan had seven and five markers, respectively.
PacificTown Army will take on BanKo in the battle for third.
