Defending champion Creamline goes for the jugular in Game 2 of the best-of-three Final Four against PacificTown Army.
Streaking defending champion Creamline looks to finish off PacificTown Army and advance to its third straight championship appearance on Saturday in Game 2 of the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference best-of-three semifinals at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
Game time is at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
The Cool Smashers drew first blood, 26-24, 25-21, 23-25, 25-20, on Wednesday to knot their 10th straight win and move a step closer to a return stint in the best-of-three Finals since winning it all in the Reinforced and Open Conferences last year.
In spite of having momentum on its side and on the brink of advancing to the championship round, Creamline wants to treat the match as a normal game and not put too much pressure on themselves.
“We have to take it na parang same normal game, we can’t pressure ourselves that we need to win but siyempre we have to have that eagerness pa rin,” said Cool Smashers star Alyssa Valdez. “Kailangan balance lang yung eagerness, calmness and composed na team.”
Valdez will be backed by a solid crew bannered by Thai import Kuttika Kaewpin, Venezuelan Ale Blanco, Risa Sato, Michele Gumabao and setter Jia Morado.
The Lady Troopers will have to give hardworking Ukrainian Lena Lymareva-Flink all the support she needs to force a rubbermatch on Wednesday.
Lymareva-Flink scored 31 points the last time out but only had Royse Tubino and American Jenelle Johnson significantly helping her out on offense with 14 and 10 markers, respectively.
