Parehas lang na pagod, walang advantage. Pero siguro ang pinaka-advantage namin is yung momentum is with us -- PetroGazz coach Arnold Laniog
PetroGazz is looking to use the momentum of its morale-boosting, series-equalizing win to finish off defending champion Creamline and annex the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Reinforced Conference throne on Sunday at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
Less than 24 hours after tying the best-of-three title showdown to one game each, the Angels set their eyes to claiming their breakthrough title in the decider that will start at 4:00 p.m. and will air live on ABS-CBN S+A Channel 23, ABS-CBN S+A HD Channel 166, LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.
“Parehas lang na pagod, walang advantage. Pero siguro ang pinaka-advantage namin is yung momentum is with us,” said Laniog, whose squad snapped the Cool Smashers’ 12-game winning streak.
PetroGazz came back from a set down to prevail over Creamline, 15-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-12, in Game 2 on Saturday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Cuban Wilma Salas and American Janisa Johnson, who powered the Angels with 23 points the last time out, are expected bring out another monster game while locals Jonah Sabete, Jeanette Panaga, Cherry Nunag, libero Cienne Cruz and setter Djanel Cheng as support.
“Ang tanong gaano namin iha-handle ang momentum namin habang mainit pa para maipakita namin bukas sa do-or-die championship,” said Laniog.
The Cool Smashers will play back-to-back games for the first time in the conference but Laniog doesn’t see it as their advantage heading into Game 3.
“Wala namang advantage, it’s all players game. If you want it talagang makukuha talaga,” said Laniog.
