There will not be a sibling rivalry because we are sister-teams but, of course, we will play hard -- ChocoMucho head coach Oliver Almadro
ChocoMucho head coach Oliver Almadro is downplaying the angle of sibling rivalry with sister-team Creamline in the Flying Titans’ entry in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference starting August 11.
"There will not be a sibling rivalry because we are sister-teams but, of course, we will play hard,” said Almadro on Thursday in the official launch of the Flying Titans at the Joy-Nostalg Hotel in Pasig City.
However, Almadro added that come game time, ChocoMucho, albeit being a newcomer in the league, won’t back down from any team even if it’s against two-time champion Creamline.
“We will be better than our best every day in every training and every match. Expect that come game time, it will be war,” Almadro vowed. “Titans eh, we'll be true to our name. We will be as passionate as ever pagdating sa games.”
Bannering the Flying Titans are former Ateneo de Manila University stalwarts Kat Tolentino, Bea De Leon and Maddie Madayag.
The ‘Big 3’ will be backed by a solid crew of young and veteran players in another former Lady Eagle in Kim Gequillana, University of Perpetual Help’s Cindy Imbo, setter Acy Masangkay, Carla Sandoval and Dianne Ticar.
Also beefing up the squad are the core of the defunct United Volleyball Club led by Shang Berte, Bang Pineda, Arianna Angustia, Gyra Barroga, Dancel Dusaran, Shannen Palec and Erika Alkuino.
