PVL: Lady Eagles eye second win
Ateneo de Manila University tries to collect its second straight win in a showdown with San Sebastian College.

Ateneo de Manila University guns for its second straight win when the Lady Eagles take on San Sebastian College in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Collegiate Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan on Saturday.

Coming off a win to start their campaign in Group A, the Lady Eagles are looking to keep its hold of the lead and add Lady Stags to their list of victims in their 10:00 a.m. affair and will be available via iWant and livestream.

Rookie Faith Nisperos introduced herself last week as she led the reigning UAAP champion Ateneo to a 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 25-20, win over Letran.

Nisperos will again anchor the Lady Eagles charge with Vannie Gandler, Erika Raagas, Jules Samonte and setter Jaja Maraguinot while veteran Ponggay Gaston is expected to make her debut after skipping last week’s game after feeling under the weather.

The Lady Stags, on the other hand, want to rebound from a 24-25, 22-25, 25-2, 17-25, loss to University of Perpetual Help last Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Adamson University Falcons and Lady Altas meet at 12:00 noon with both teams putting their unblemished records at stake in the other Group A clash.

Rookie Lucille Almonte teamed up with Ceasa Pinar and sophomore Trisha Genesis on offense to power the Lady Falcons to a 25-18, 25-22, 25-16, sweep of San Beda University last week.

In Group B, NCAA champion Arellano University squares off with Lyceum of the Philippines University at 8:00 a.m.

The Lady Chiefs defeated TIP, 25-12, 25-7, 25-13, to begin their campaign while the Lady Pirates absorbed a 18-25, 13-25, 21-25, beating at the hands of University of Sto. Tomas last week.
