Motolite top hitter Myla Pablo sustained a metatarsal sprain on her right foot in the second set of the squad’s match against PetroGazz in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Pablo went down in pain as she tried jump for a spike in the second frame with Motolite down, 9-10. She was crying in pain as medical personnel brought her off the court.
Motolite physical therapist Hannah Untalann told reporters that Pablo said that she felt that something ‘cracked’ on her mid-foot as she tried to jump for a spike. She couldn’t put weight on her injured foot, which was immediately iced as she was brought back to their dugout.
Pablo was given medication and will be brought in the hospital for X-ray and further examinations.
With Pablo out, Motolite suffered a 21-25, 16-25, 26-28, defeat that snapped its four-game winning streak and slid to 4-2.
