Philippine Air Force vented its ire on hapless Chef’s Classics, 25-15, 25-17, 25-20, on Saturday to get back in the win column in its penultimate elimination round outing in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
Coming off a stinging loss to PetroGazz that booted them out of the semifinals race, the Lady Jet Spikers demolished the Lady Red Spikers for a 7-8 win-loss record heading into their final elims showdown with PacificTown Army on Wednesday.
Jozza Cabalsa led the way for Air Force with 12 points coming off six attacks, five kill blocks and an ace while Dell Palomata had 11 markers in the Lady Jet Spikers’ 73-minute drubbing of winless Chef’s Classics.
It was a one-sided affair for both also-ran squads with Air Force stamping its class over the young Lady Red Spikers, who committed 33 errors that hastened their downfall.
Still, Air Force head coach Jasper Jimenez was far from satisfied.
"Kahit papaano naka-straight sets pero sa tingin ko, hindi maganda 'yung ano ng mga bata kailangan pa ng energy, kulang pa sa energy," he said. "Kahit mahina pa 'yung kalaban, dapat 'yung attitude nila, although may will to will, dapat hindi nagre-relax."
Chef’s Classics failed to win a single match in 16 outings in their maiden stint.
Nieza Viray had 12 points while Justine Tiu got 10 markers in a losing cause of the Lady Red Spikers, who actually scored six more attack points compared to Air Force’s 25 kills but were dominated at the net with the Lady Jet Spikers scoring 12 kill blocks.
