PVL: Valdez, Morado return as Creamline begins semis series
Creamline begins crucial drive for a repeat crown.

Unbeaten defending champion Creamline braces for a tough semifinals battle against Motolite even with the return its two main weapons on Saturday in Game 1 of the best-of-three series in the Premier Volleyball League Season 3 Open Conference at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Cool Smashers completed a 16-game elimination round sweep despite missing the services of the two national team players last Wednesday in a four-set win over Motolite.

Using that as leverage, Creamline will try to make it three in a row over Motolite in their 2:00 p.m. match that will air live on LIGA SkyCable Channel 86, LIGA HD SkyCable Channel 183, iWant and via livestream.

Valdez and Morado arrived on Friday from Japan after cutting short their 12-day training with the national team for the 30th Southeast Asian Games in Manila next month as Creamline marches into the final stretch of its repeat bid.

Top Most Valuable Player prospect Jema Galanza, Michele Gumabao, Risa Sato, Pau Soriano and Rosemarie Vargas, who all stepped up to hold the fort in the Cool Smashers’ last two games, complete the deep offensive arsenal of Creamline.

But Motolite is determined to spoil Creamline’s drive for a back-to-back crown in the season-ending conference.

Myla Pablo, Tots Carlos, Isa Molde, Aie Gannaban and Bernadette Flora together with Fil-Am setter Iris Tolenada will be at the forefront of Motolite’s first semis stint.

Game 2 of the Final Four is on Sunday.
