The Burmese squad tramples the Pinay netballers for their first win in three games.
Still reeling from a severe beating the day before, the Philippine women's team absorbed another crushing defeat this time at the hands of Myanmar, 31-56, Tuesday in the 28th Singapore Southeast Asian Games netball competition.
The Burmese overran the Pinay netballers as early as the first two quarters, 29-15, and cruised to their first win in three games.
It is the PHI squad's third straight loss in as many outings after suffering a whipping from Malaysia, 11-112, Monday and a 22-62 loss to Thailand in the opener last Sunday.
Khin Sandar Kyaw and Zar Chi Aye nailed 45 and 11 goals, respectively, to pace Myanmar, which is now tied with Brunei with 1-2 slate.
Ana Cenarosa sank 23 goals while Leanne Espina and Michiko Castaneda combined for eight points for the PHI bets’ biggest output so far in their first participation to the sport.
The Pinays will face powerhouse host Singapore on Wednesday before closing their prelims campaign against Brunei on Thursday.
