Pinay netballers left black and blue in 101-point rout
The Philippine national women's netball team falls for the second straight time in a massacre.

The Philippine national women’s netball team was embarrassed by an experienced Malaysian squad in an 11-112 beating Monday in the 28th Singapore Southeast Asian event held at the OCBC Arena Hall 1.

It is the second straight loss of the Filipinas led by volleyball players Michiko Castaneda and Michelle Datuin.

The Malaysians closed the first quarter with a commanding 32-1 lead before shackling the Pinays to only 10 points in the next three frames.

Malaysian goal shooter Norashikin Kamalzaman scattered 61 goals while An Najwa Azizan nailed 29 for the squad’s second straight win in as many outings.

Ana Cenarosa scored seven goals while Leanne Espina got three and Castaneda posted one for the PHI team.

The Filipinas suffered a 22-62 loss to Thailand last Sunday in the opener.

Myanmar, also winless in two games, is the Filipinas’ opponent Tuesday.
