Pinoys lose to Thais in tennis singles, settle for bronze

The Philippines has so far won a silver medal and three bronzes in tennis.
SINGAPORE - Jeson Patrombon and Katherine Lehnert lost to separate Thai rivals in the men’s and women’s tennis singles semifinals on Friday and settled for bronze medals in 28th Singapore Southeast Asian Games at the Kallang Tennis Centre here.
Patrombon fell to Thai Warit Sornbutnark, 4-6, 1-6, while Lehnert yielded to Sornbutnark’s compatriot also in straight sets, 5-7, 1-6.
The Filipino netters have so far won a silver medal in the women’s team event and three bronzes
Battling later in the day in the men’s doubles semifinals were the tandem of Treat Huey and Francis Casey Alcantara and the pair of Ruben Gonzales and Patrombon.
