Coming off a brilliant opening match against Malaysia, the Philippine women's national football team was unable to keep the momentum going as they fell to Vietnam, 3-0, in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games women's football tournament, Thursday afternoon at the UM Arena Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
After keeping things tight in the first half with a 0-0 scoreline, the Vietnamese ladies took over in the second stanza, hitting in the 63rd minute.
Vietnam doubled their lead in the 83rd minute, before icing the match with a third and final goal three minutes into injury time.
The Filipinas drop to one win, and one loss in the tournament for three points, while Vietnam gets off to a good start in their SEA Games tournament with three points in their opening match.
The Pinays get a few days off to regroup before heading back onto the pitch against Myanmar on Tuesday, August 22nd.
