Toledo, Beram add more gold medals for Team PHI

The Philippines got two more gold medals from athletics.
KUALA LUMPUR --- Filipino tracksters added two more mints to jack Team Philippines’ gold medal haul to 10 Wednesday night in the 29th Southeast Asian Games here.
Aries Toledo debuted in the biennial meet with a bang as he took home the decathlon gold medal.
The 23-year-old Pinoy bet collected 6849 points in the event. Thailand’s Suttisak Singkon scored 6678 to settle for a silver medal finish while Bui Van Su of Vietnam salvaged a bronze medal (6207).
Meanwhile, Trenten Anthony Beram ruled the men's 200m. run to give the PHI athletics team its fourth gold medal after Mary Joy Tabal’s conquest in women’s marathon and Eric Cray’s win in the 400m hurdles.
Beram clocked 20.84 seconds to beat Jirapong Meenapara of Thailand (21.22 seconds) and Malaysian Thevarr Gunasegaran (21.26 seconds).
The PHI, so far, won two mints in triathlon courtesy of Kim Mangrobang and Nikko Huelgas, a pair of gymnastics gold from Reyland Capellan (men’s floor exercise) and rising star Kaitlin de Guzman (uneven bars), one from wushu artist Agatha Wong (women’s taijiquan) and another fencer Brennan Wayne Louie (men’s foil).
