Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. released the national team roster that will see action in the Southeast Asian Grand Prix in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from Sept. 20 to 22.
Fifteen of the 16-woman team were present on Thursday during the Nationals’ practice at the Arellano University gym in Taft.
Holdovers from last year’s Asian Games lineup led by Alyssa Valdez and skipper Aby Marano attended the training together with newcomers Kalei Mau, Maddie Madayag, Roselyn Doria and setter Alohi Robins-Hardy.
Also in the list were returning national team members Jovelyn Gonzaga, who last played in the 2017 Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur, and Iris Tolenada, who saw action in the 2015 Asian Women’s Senior Championship in China.
Others included in the line-up for the tournament that will serve as part of the country’s preparation for the 30th Southeast Asian Games were Eya Laure, Majoy Baron, Ces Molina, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Mylene Paat, Dawn Macandili and Kath Arado.
Veteran setter Jia Morado is in the line-up but skipped practice as the playmaker is still recovering from gastroenteritis.
The bulk of the pool leaves for Thailand on Saturday for the 12-day training camp while Gonzaga, Valdez, Madayag and Morado will join them on Sept. 15.
