2019 ASEAN Grand Prix: Indonesia overpowers Vietnam

STA. ROSA, Laguna -- Indonesia bounced back from an opening day loss with a 29-27, 25-20, 23-25, 25-17, victory over Vietnam on Saturday in the ASEAN Grand Prix second leg at the Sta. Rosa Multi-purpose Gym here.
Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi scored 21 points off 18 kills and three kill blocks to pace Indonesia while Ratri Wulandri had 18 markers.
Arsela Nuari Purnama added 15 points, Agustin Wulandri got 11 markers while Wilda Siti Nurfadhilah Sugandi finished with 10 for Indonesia, which also got 24 excellent sets and 11 digs from Tri Retno Mutiari Lutfi.
Indonesia, which rebounded from a straight sets loss at the hands of Thailand Friday, will take on host Philippines on Sunday.
Thi Kieu Trinh Hoang had 16 points while Thi Lam Oanah scored 14 points in Vietnam’s second defeat in as many games.
The Vietnamese will wrap the tournament against Thailand Sunday.
