Japan club Gunma Bank greeted the Philippine women's volleyball team with an extra Filipino flavor.
TOKYO --- The Japanese are known to be warm and hospitable to guests.
But Gunma Bank Green Wings team captain Minami Yoshioka made the Philippine national women’s volleyball team feel at home in her own way.
The Filipinas couldn’t help but smile as they entered the GB Sports Center in Gunma as a welcome note written on the whiteboard came with a very familiar fastfood chain logo.
It turned out that Yoshioka, who was an import of F2 Logistics back in the 2018 Philippine Superliga Grand Prix, was very fond of Jollibee during her stay in the Philippines.
“I like the chicken,” said the 2018 PSL Grand Prix Best Libero of the fastfood chain’s famous product.
Yoshioka was happy when she learned that the national team will play a tune-up match against her Japan Division 2 club and that she’ll be reunited with her former teammates Aby Marano, Dawn Macandili and Majoy Baron.
So she asked their team manager to add something very Filipino in their welcome greeting board.
