The Philippines' Men's Football campaign in the upcoming 2019 Southeast Asian Games Men's Football tournament bid received a huge boost with the addition of senior men's team members Stephan Schrock and Amani Aguinaldo.
The Philippine Azkals officially announced the list of players that cracked the SEA Games lineup earlier this week, which features Schrock and Aguinaldo joining a collection of the country's best football talents under the age of 22.
The 20-man lineup also includes former and current Azkals call-ups in Dylan de Bruycker, Yrick Gallantes, Edison Suerti, Justin Baas, and Marco Casambre.
Also making the roster are two-time UAAP MVP Jarvey Gayoso of Ateneo de Manila, University of the East's Mar Diano, the San Beda University trio of Jerome Marzan, JR Suba, and Michael Asong, and incpoming Far Eastern University standout Pocholo Bugas.
On the reserve list are even more homegrown talents in Ateneo's AJ Arcilla, University of the Philippines' JB Borlongan, National University's Ivan Ouano, De La Salle University's Jovan Marfiga, Fritz Brigoli, and Dean Ebarle.
"It's a good collection of players. Young, dynamic, very active, with good football careers," said team manager Dan Palami. "For those who are [playing] here, they're stalwarts in the UAAP and the NCAA, then for those who are coming from outside, they're actually professional players from different clubs."
"We hope to make the Philippines proud in this tournament," Palami added.
The Azkals' SEA Games campaign begins on Monday, November 25th against Cambodia at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.
