A spill midway in her free skating performance doomed local bet Alisson Perticheto's bid to win the gold in the 30th Southeast Asian Games women's figure skating Sunday at the SM Megamall Ice Skating Rink.
The Filipina-Swiss settled for silver after Singaporean ice queen Chloe Ing topped the field with a total aggregate of 152.67 points.
Ing, who had 50.67 points in the short program for second place last Friday, improved from her silver medal finish in the 2017 Kuala Lumpur SEA Games. The Singaporean was flawless in her routine and earned 102 points.
Perticheto scored 79.11 in free skating for an aggregate of 132.76 points.
The 2017 edition's bronze medalist displayed grace on ice as she wowed the judges with her clean routine to top the women’s short program with 53.65 points last Friday but a spill in her program two days after cost her the elusive gold.
Savika Zahira of Indonesia scored an aggregate of 100.80 points and took bronze. She posted 68.18 in free skating and had 32.62 points in the short program.
