The passion of the Philippine volleyball fans to the sport is a sure draw any foreign player to see action here.
Vietnam’s star Thi Thanh Thuy Tran, popularly known as T4, expressed interest for a possible stint in the country if given a chance.
Playing in front of a packed audience inside the newly-renovated PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Tuesday, T4 experienced the passion of the local fans while cheering for the home team in their 30th Southeast Asian Games women’s volleyball.
It was loud and animated.
Enough to convince her to play here.
“If given a chance in the future I’m open to playing here. I can go here and play for any team here in the Philippines,” said T4.
The Vietnamese team captain skipped her team’s stint in the second leg of the ASEAN Grand Prix two months ago for her commitment with her Japan club Denso Airybees.
But T4 returned with a bang scoring 27 points in Vietnam’s 21-25, 25-23, 25-19, 20-25, 15-8, win over the Filipinas to boost their chances to vie for a gold medal.
Vietnam, the 2017 edition of the biennial meet’s bronze medalist, will face Indonesia on Thursday.
