SUBIC - The Philippines has made noise yet again in another sport in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, this time in muay where it has claimed a gold and a silver medal after the first day of competition.
The men’s pair of Jearome Calica and Joemar Gallaza staked claim to the top spot in the Wai Kru event, Wednesday at Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center with a score of 9.59.

Theirs were far and away the best routines as silver medalist Malaysia stood at 9.21 while bronze medalist Indonesia stood at 8.84, ultimately.
Earlier, the women’s duo of Rusha Mae Bayacsan and Irendin Lapatan also impressed for a total of 9.45.
They were just barely outdone by Thailand who wound up with 9.47 points, but their score was more than enough to seize silver.
Completing the podium is Vietnam at 9.02.
