MANILA — Double billards semis for Filipinas Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.
Seeing action in women’s 9-ball singles Friday at the Manila Hotel Tent, Centeno made quick work of Indonesia’s Angeline Ticoalu in the quarterfinals, 7-0.
Over 30 minutes later, Rubilen Amit joined Centeno in the 9-ball semis after the former two-time World Champion beat Fathrah Masum also of Indonesia, 7-3.

“Mas mahirap na kung dumikit pa siya,” Amit said of her Indonesian opponent after Masum won back-to-back racks to make it a 5-3 match.
“May tira din yung kalaban, she was really taking her time. Sabi ko gusto ko na tapusin, baka lalong tumagal pa,” Amit added.
Amit and Centeno will play in the semifinals later in the day but in a different singles category.
Both of them will shift to 10-ball, with Amit facing Thandar Maung of Myanmar and Centeno taking on A Mi Aung also of Myanmar.
