MANILA — A second gold medal for both Rubilen Amit and Chezka Centeno in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games is in play.
The dynamic Pinay duo advanced to the finals of women’s nine-ball doubles Monday at the Manila Hotel Tent, besting Angeline Ticoalu and Silviana Lu on Indonesia, 7-3.
Amit and Centeno raced to a fast start, winning the first four racks for a comfortable lead.
Ticoalu and Lu recovered to take two racks back but Amit and Centeno would not be denied and the Pinays won three of the last four racks to claim the victory.
It’s the third gold medal game for both Amit and Centeno in these SEA Games.
They faced each other in the finals of 10-ball singles and 9-ball singles.
They split the series, with Chezka winning 10-ball and Rubilen taking gold in 9-ball.
