NEW CLARK CITY, TARLAC - Eric Cray stumbled out of the gates in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, but closed his campaign with a flourish as he defended his title in men’s 400m hurdles, Tuesday at the NCC Athletics Centre here.
Cray turned on the jets in the last turn of the race and ultimately took home his fourth gold medal in a row in the event.
The Filipino-American wound up with a total time of 50.21 seconds - .600 better than his closest competitor.
This is a fine finish for Cray after he had been disqualified in the men’s 100m race due to false starts in the qualifying heats.
Seizing silver is Indonesian Edwin Binsar while bagging bronze is Vietnamese Cong Lich Quach.
