SEA Games 2019: Philippines nabs gold in Men's Team Soft Tennis

The Philippines closed out the 2019 Southeast Asian Games Soft Tennis competitions with a bang, Tuesday morning at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, nabbing gold in the Men's Team event .
Composed of Noel Damian Jr., Mark Anthony Alcoseba, Joseph Arcilla, Mikoff Manduriao, and Dheo Talatayod, the Pinoy team bested Thailand to a score of 2-1.
The doubles duo of Damian and Alcoseba dropped the opening set, 5-3, to Thailand's Sakan Thansiriroj and Thanarit Surarak.
Arcilla pulled the Philippines in the second set with a 4-1 win over Kawin Yannarit to tie things up at 1-1.
Manduriao and Talatayod sealed the win with a 5-3 win over Tlreerapat Sujaritplee and Torlarp Songweera.
It was the Philippines' third gold medal in the sport, with Noelle Manalac taking gold in the Women's Individual Singles category as well as in the Women's Doubles category, alongside partner Noelle Zoleta.
Taking bronze were the Women's Doubles tandem of Princess Catindig and Erdilyn Peralta.
