Mojica grabs Reinforced Conference MVP award

Former Emilio Aguinaldo College standout Howard Mojica of Philippine Air Force pocketed his first conference Most Valuable Player award Saturday as an icing on the cake for his third championship in the Spikers’ Turf.
Mojica received the recognition after Philippine Air Force captured the second edition of the Reinforced Conference with a 20-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22 Game 2 win in the best-of-three Finals series at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
The two-time NCAA MVP that helped EAC win the Season 90 crown also won the 1st Best Outside Spiker award. Mojica won his first title last year in the Open Conference for powerhouse PLDT before transferring to Philippine Air Force to lead the Jet Spikers in capturing the Open Conference and Reinforced Conference crowns both in a sweep of Cignal.
Multi-awarded playmaker Jessie Lopez of Air Force again was the hands down choice for the Best Setter award while teammate Bryan Bagunas, who averaged 25.5 points per game in the championship round, was given the Finals MVP recognition.
Cignal’s Lorenzo Capate won the 2nd Best Outside Hitter citation while teammates Sandy Montero (Best Libero) and Peter Torres (2nd Best Middle Blocker) were also included in the special awards list.
Rounding up the list were Berlin Paglinawan (Best Opposite Spiker) of third placer Champion Supra Kheeno Franco (1st Best Middle Blocker) of Instituto Estetico Manila.
