Why is Kanye's new sneaker worth the hype?

The new Yeezy Boost 350 on foot
Over the weekend, adidas, together with Sole Academy, released the Yeezy Boost 350 at Sole Academy’s store in Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The low-cut runner, which retailed for P11,495, was hyped about by hundreds of fans and sneakerheads hoping to get a chance of obtaining the pair.
During the raffle, around 50 lucky people grabbed the chance to purchase American Rapper Kanye West’s second sneaker collaboration with adidas, and even wore them for the photo op. So why was it worth the hype? Here are a couple of reasons:
1) It has the best adidas technology
The shoe may be pricey, but it is justified as it makes use of two of adidas’ latest tech, namely Primeknit and Boost.
The Primeknit upper acts like a second skin to the foot, and it stretches enough to adapt to the user’s feet, giving it a snug fit. The midsole, which uses Boost, provides adequate energy return through energy pellets that are densely packed together.
Merging both tech is one way adidas would perfectly showcase its best technology on one shoe.
2) The minimalist design
Merging the best tech does not stop there, as design cues are also put in consideration to make the shoe very appealing. Having a one-piece upper with a subtle graphic design and a suede panel at the side of the shoe, the Yeezy Boost 350 looks simple yet attractive to anyone.
Pair it with a simple-looking one-piece sole design, and you got the total package.
3) It is very comfortable
I may have not tried on a pair (since I did not win in the raffle), but those who won the raffle and tried them on said that they are really comfy, that it is a pleasure to walk with them for hours. Those who won walked around them while inside the store, and you can see the smile on their faces that they got a shoe that is not just hyped up, but very comfy to walk with.
No need to worry about walking like a duck with the Yeezy Boost 350s
4) Well, it’s designed by West
Yes, it is Yeezy season when West showcases his talent in fashion design. The fact that they are designed by West himself was enough reason for the shoe to be hyped up, and the hype is definitely worth it. The way West designed them was a good mix of form and function, which is better than the first shoe he designed for adidas, the Yeezy 750 Boost.
