Whether we are fooled by his arrogance or not, Floyd Mayweather Jr.—who recently announced his final fight to end his 19-year career, featuring Andre Berto—is just one of the most interesting and intriguing characters in this century’s world boxing. Lately, judging from his not-at-all modest Instagram posts, he’s also becoming one of the most stylish. And fast.
I know right.
We wouldn’t want to get in the way of Floyd’s big spending. Sure, millions of American dollars—like, $336 M from the Fight of the Century—would compensate for his sports "sacrifices." We wouldn’t want to tell him that his 16 Rolls-Royces, a couple of Ferraris, and a Lamborghini (an Aventa-frickin-dor!), among other bajillionaire cars, are just too much. Nor are we too call him out for splurging on an 18-karat gold limited edition Peerless fountain pen nor a private jet called Gulfstream 550.
But his gainful career has also led him to be all out in terms of shopping and piecing together supposedly sartorial stuff that reveal his sense of style. If you check out his Instagram, you’ll see him exhibiting some Jay-Z realness for his #ootd's. Although, some of them are from his own clothing brand, The Money Team or TMT. Look through are our fave Floyd fashion moments that definitely rocked our socks--again, whether we are fooled by his arrogance or not:
That moment he wore socks and slippers, and still looked badass.
That moment he looked like a lean Cee Lo on a shopping spree.
That moment you wanted to work out just because you wanted to wear his workout wear.
Yes, I will take the charge! I am still driven and always have been ambitious and will continue to be generous. Why? Because it feels good and GOD blesses me with abundance. So, if you are not where you want to be or have less than you aspire to have...you need to reassess yourself and your focus. True happiness begins within. That moment he originated the trend #LazyLuxury.
That moment he made "basic" synonymous to "boss."
That moment when Kanye West cried over being outshone.
That moment he finally validates himself as a fashion foreman by securing a seat at the Paris Fashion Week.
That moment he became patriotic.
That moment he wore a pair of printed shorts with a random picture of a tiger, but it all made sense just because he had the body to complement it. (Dammit!)
That moment he basically Don Draper-ed/Chuck Bass-ed himself.
That moment he wrapped himself with two swanky Louis Vuitton towels like the Virgin Mary, and we accepted it as is including his really crowing caption because... Louis Vuitton towels.
