The Philippines is taking over in the 2016 Sneaker World Championships.

Filipino architect Archie Tolentio and his shoe design, the "El Povernir" just reached the critical Final Four stage of the 2016 Pensole World Sneaker Championship after besting the entry of Austin Scott from the United States.

Tolentino shared the great news on his Facebook account earlier today.

JUST IN: 󾓥🇭 is in the FINAL FOUR. Thanks again for the votes and shares! Tough, tough matchup on the next round (vs USA again!) Be back with a proper post! Again, THANK YOU! 󾓥🇭󾭞 #worldsneakerchampionship

The Philippines is now up against another American opponent with a spot in the finals on the line.

"El Povernir" is the shoe concept by Tolentino inspired by a 1930s Philippine company that "thrived as the pioneer of rubbershoe manufacturing in the Philippines."

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN Sports, Tolentino said he wants nothing more than to see a "few more Filipino designers break in this billion dollar industry."

Let's support his entry once again and put "El Povernir" in the finals by voting here.
