In case you wondered why of the seven schools that participated at the UAAP CDC 2016, FEU had no courtside reporter to represent them, it’s because Morayta’s Ganiel Krishnan has been busy being the face of the Philippines instead at the Miss Asia Pacific International 2016. Krishnan, 22, is presently at the Sheridan Beach Resort and Spa in Puerto Princesa City for the culmination of the oldest international beauty contest, which underwent a face-lift following a decade-long hiatus.
“Today is the day! Win or lose, watch me walk for Jesus,” Krishnan sent as a tweet earlier today, as she prepared for the coronation Wednesday night.
In several minor events leading to tonight, Communication student Krishnan placed Best Talent first runner-up in between eventual winner and second runner-up Cook Islands and Peru.
Krishnan is part of the 40 delegates from around the world. If ever, she will be the next titleholder after Leonor Jimenez-Monge of Costa Rica in 2005. She also won second runner-up in the national costume and the long gown contests.
Despite her absence from last Saturday’s UAAP event, Krishnan posted a Facebook photo of her in a FEU cheerleading uniform as good luck to the FEU Cheering Squad. Morayta, which last got a podium place in 2012, finished first runner-up with its Broadway-themed routine.
