Our Pinoy athletes are probably used to being under the intense pressure of performing behind a large amount of people by now.
They are also probably aware of how we like watching them as they make or break that crucial play, so it's no surprise that most of our athletes are huge fans of the recently-concluded Miss Universe pageant, where they can take comfort in the fact that they're not the ones under pressure.
Much of the contestants have spent months, even years of practice for one crucial moment -- much like our athletes.
Some of your favorite sportspeople became audiences earlier today as they took to Twitter to voice out their thoughts on what went down at #MissUniverse:
Here's Ateneo Blue Eagle Marck Espejo taking the opportunity to make her significant other, DLSU Lady Spiker Kim Dy, feel like a queen.
And here's former UST Lady Tigress Carmela Tunay losing her cool during the tense moments of the pageant.
Here's former Lady Eagle Gretchen Ho voicing out some #facts not many may admit to
Ang sakit sa puso 😭 Dapat lang kasama ang Pilipinas kundi magkakagulo diyan 😂— Gretchen Ho (@gretchenho) January 30, 2017
And here's another Ateneo Blue Eagle, Rex Intal, who summed things up pretty nicely for people who aren't well-versed in the #MissUniverse scene.
Ms. Universe 2017 makes me feel like a non-NBA fan that hardcore cheers for Steph Curry because thats the only guy they know.— Rex Intal (@rexintal) January 30, 2017
Former DLSU star Melissa Gohing had an extremely witty take on what's happening, though
Maki Haiti 🇭🇹 na lang tayo sa Kenyang 🇰🇪 korona, France 🇫🇷 naman tayo diba? 😂— Melissa E. Gohing (@GOHINGMELISSA) January 30, 2017
And we wish her all the luck with her trip to the salon.
Medyo bad timing I'm going to the Salon to get a haircut. Mainit ang ulo ng mga tao dun. 😂— Melissa E. Gohing (@GOHINGMELISSA) January 30, 2017
