Sunday Sneaks: Ugly Gilas win, Pretty Gilas shoes

Gilas Pilipinas' win over Japan Sunday was by no means pretty.

It was exciting, but it wasn't pretty.

What was pretty though, was the shoe that team captain Gabe Norwood wore.

And that my friends, is our sole focus for this Gilas Pilipinas edition of Sunday Sneaks*.

*Sunday Sneaks on a Monday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Norwood's weapon of choice against the Japanese was the Nike Kyrie 4 in the Chinese New Year colorway and the shoe's bright red make up it was a perfect contrast to the Philippines' royal blue uniform.

Easily the most recognizable part of the Kyrie 4 CNY is the red suede at the back and the floral detailing.

Sneakers with floral embroidery has been the latest in thing for quite a while now and the Swoosh has offered its take with this Kyrie colorway, among other shoes featured in the 2018 CNY lineup.

From a performance standpoint, the Kyrie 4 might be the best in the Celtics star's signature line as it addressed one glaring weakness from the previous model and that's actual cushioning.

But for real though, these are fire and Gabe Norwood practically won Sunday before the game even started.
