Former Ateneo Lady Eagle Therese Gaston is the latest volleyball player to aim for a pageant crown as she is one of the candidates for Miss Manila 2018.
In an Instagram story Tuesday evening, Therese posted a photo alongside fellow candidates with the hashtag #MissManila2018.

The Humanities graduate from Ateneo, born May 7, 1996 played for the Lady Eagles for two seasons and was part of their last run of back-to-back titles in Season 77.
Therese last played for the Lady Eagles in season 78, where they fell short of protecting the crown against archrival and now three-peat champion De La Salle University.
According to a UAAP season 77 information sheet, Therese was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is a current resident of Metro Manila.
Her sister Ponggay is still with the Katipunan-based squad, continuing the Gaston lineage in sports.
The 5'9" volleybelle's father Fritz was a former UAAP coach and an ex-PBA player.
She expressed interest in becoming a courtside reporter in the UAAP back in 2016, but it was not meant to be. Now, though, she aims to turn shortcoming into opportunity as she looks to become Miss Manila 2018.
Her move also follows the recent success of former DLSU Lady Spiker and now Creamline Cool Smasher Michele Gumabao, who was crowned Miss Philippines-Globe 2018 back in March.
Grand coronation night for Miss Manila 2018 will be held on June 26, 2018 at the PICC Reception Hall.
