The Philippine national women's volleyball squad may have finished at eighth place in the 2018 Asian Games, but reserve setter Jia Morado will be returning home a winner.

The former Ateneo star and current Creamline Cool Smashers playmaker has long been vocal about idolizing Nootsara Tomkom, Thailand's veteran setter.

After watching the gold medal match between China and the Thais, Morado got a priceless gift from her idol: Nootsara's championship game-worn jersey.

Morado shared her experience via Instagram, with an equally touching message after Nootsara's Thailand fell to China to settle for silver.

"To be in the same tournament, much more the same court as the player I have always looked up to definitely makes the hard work and sacrifices I’ve made worth it," said Morado. "But bringing home the jersey she wore in their championship game leaves me speechless, and even more inspired to work harder to be given an opportunity like this again."

Whoever said to "never meet your idol" is badly mistaken in this instance.
