Manila, Philippines — adidas on September 19 launched to the public its VRCT Jacket. Held in the newly expanded adidas Fort store, the event celebrated the VRCT Jacket as a contemporary take on the traditional letterman jacket.
The jacket, inspired by athletic tradition, was reinvented for self-expression with customizable patches. Aside from the classic adidas ‘A’ team patch that comes with every VRCT Jacket purchase, there are also sets of global and local patches to choose from. Global adidas Creators James Harden, Denise Schindler, Mette Towley, Paulo Dybala, Ning Zetao and Stefanos Tsitipas each chose words that represent their story and what they stand for, which customers could pick from when they purchase the VRCT Jacket.
The launch event also revealed four Philippine-exclusive patches that will be released in stores soon— one for adidas Runners Manila and three representing the Philippines created by local artists.
The Philippine Jeepney by Cara Gonzalez - An icon in Filipino culture, the Philippine Jeepney patch shows an animated design with the Philippine flag.
The Eagle Eye by Jappy Agoncillo - A nod to the Philippine Eagle, the second local patch serves as a reminder to protect our critically endangered Philippine Eagles.
The Island Explorer by Fine Time Studios - Highlighting the 7,107 islands of the Philippines, the third local patch is for the adventurous explorers.
The adidas Runners Manila Patch - Made for the runners, the adidas Runners Manila patch comes as an additional patch only available for adidas Runners Manila members if they prove their status as a member of the running community through the Runtastic App.
adidas also made custom patches for select local athletes such as volleyball player Michele Gumabao, basketball players Diego Dario and Aljon Mariano, National triathlete Claire Adorna, and yoga teacher Nikki Torres who chose the words ‘Limitless’, ‘God’s Glory’, ‘Relentless’, ‘Pilipinas’, and ‘Equality’ to represent their story and what they stand for.
Just like them, everyone can also stand with pride and represent what they stand for when they purchase the new VRCT Jacket with its range of patches. Get it now for P4,800 in-store or online at adidas.com.ph/werepresent
