Despite a third straight win for Mark Philippousis, the Manila Mavericks still fell to the UAE Royals in Day Two of the Singapore leg.
The Manila Mavericks failed to sustain their winning run as they bowed down to the UAE Royals, 26-21, in Day Two of the Singapore leg in the International Premier Tennis League.
Mark Philippoussis continued his success in the legends singles as he outlasted Goran Ivanisevic, 6-5, to give the Mavericks its first win of the day.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga though could not make it two in a row for the Manila squad as he lost to 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic, 6-4.
Tsonga though would bounce back in the men's doubles as he and partner Treat Huey beat Cilic and Nenad Zimonjic, 6-3.
It went downhill though for the Mavericks though in the last two matches.
The pair of Daniel Nestor and Kirsten Flipkens were overpowered by Zimonjic and Kristina Mladenovic, 6-1, in the mixed doubles.
Mladenovic capped off UAE's comeback with a 6-4 triumph over Flipkens.
The Mavericks end the Singapore leg on Thursday against the Micromax Indian Aces.
