Philippines takes down Indonesia in Davis Cup action

The Philippine Tennis team advanced into the second round of the 2018 Davis Cup after taking down Indonesia, 4:1, over the weekend at the Gelora Bung Karno Tennis Stadium Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia.

AJ Lim opened with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Althaf Dhaifullah, before the home team managed to pull even courtesy of David Agung Susanto edging out Jeson Patrombon, 6-2,7-5. 

The Pinoys pulled ahead once again after the tandem of Jurence Mendoza and Francis Alcantra took a 7-6, 6-3 win over Justin Barki and David Susanto. 

AJ Lim sealed the win for the Philippines by scoring a 6-3,6-4 win over David Susanto. 

John Otico closed out the contest with a 6-3,6-3 win over Anthony Susanto to make it a 4:1 final tally for the Pinoy side. 

The Philippines will now take on Thailand in the second round, scheduled for April 7-8 in the Philippines.
