- JD Tungcab.
After a disastrous year that only saw them pull off a victory in the last game of the regular season, the Adamson Falcons would gladly take any sort of improvement for UAAP Season 78.
With no seniors in tow and a new coach coming in, a rookie in the name of JD Tungcab maybe the boost the Falcons need to be more competitive this year.
Showing confidence but not to the point of arrogance, the incoming freshman certainly thinks they are going to surprise a lot of people by the time basketball season starts.
"Kaya namin i-angat," Tungcab told ABS-CBN Sports.
For the Adamson faithful, that is some good stuff coming from your blue-chip recruit who won Mythical Five last year in the junior ranks despite getting transferred to the San Marcelino campus only in his third year of secondary education.
True enough, Tungcab's journey to the UAAP has been long, filled with some early injuries and initial doubt coming from his parents.
Tungcab wanted to be part of his elementary school's varsity team as early as grade four but his father wanted none of it fearing that his son might just get injured.
Fortunately, after a year, and some heavy insistence from JD himself, the older Tungcab finally budged and now, there is nothing but all out support coming the young Falcon's way.
After coming back from a hand injury early in his high school days, he was recruited to Adamson and led the Baby Falcons to the Final Four in his senior year.
The senior ranks is next on his list of targets.
Don't forget the name JD Tungcab, he just might lead a young and hungry Adamson squad to a number of upsets at the expense of your favorite UAAP teams.
