HISTORY LESSON. UP is set to take all of us on a trip through time.
With the UAAP all set to continue making history now in its 78th year, the season hosts have decided that it's high time for all of us to revisit our own history as a people.
For the opening ceremony on Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum, the University of the Philippines aims to take each and every one of us through a history lesson about how the Philippine archipelago was formed and, in turn, formed us.
League president Michael Tan promised an elaborate show made possible by no less than six colleges (Human Kinetics, Fine Arts, Arts and Letters, Music, Engineering, and Social Sciences and Philosophy) from UP.
While there will be no special guest appearances, the season hosts shared that the emotional narrative they have in store will definitely capture the heart of the audience. The ceremony will commence with a singular heartbeat where space, water, and land will then consecutively originate from.
This formation will ultimately give birth to eight entities representing the league’s eight member schools who, in turn, will allow life to prosper on the formation.
The opening ceremony with UP’s trademark brand of Filipino will be broadcast LIVE at 12:00 PM on ABS-CBN Sports+Action Channel 23 and will also be streamed LIVE on sports.abs-cbn.com.
